That sounds like a good idea, especially if you combined it with filing out the inside surface and gluing it there like like Stick suggested.

I take it we're talking about these meshes?

The only other thing I could suggest if the plastic is really thick, is to glue thin strips of evergreen around the insides of the cutout, but leave just enough 'step' so that you could glue the mesh level with the outside surface.

Not to get political, but Starbucks doesn't want my business since I am a conservative, Republican voter. I honor their request. I will be searching cabinet drawers - I thought I had something other than the metal mesh. I don't think that will hold up to cutting...we will see.

Here are the covers. As seems to be the case, the first one came out okay and the second came apart. It looks to be quite "fixable".

I would think some plastic strip would fix those breaks Lyle.

Ah...

If worse comes to worse, you could leave the cowlings off and say it's being serviced...

Tell me what you think? I know it is a bit crooked, but it is not attached yet.

I think that when you straighten it and when it's all one colour it'll look spot on Lyle.

The mesh is a picture I snatched from a ebay listing and shrunk. Printed on a laser. I like it and it was cheap.

That mesh looks great! Is it flexible/pliable? And what is it made from?

So that's not actually a mesh - that's a picture of of a mesh? I like it , that's actually a pretty good solution Lyle.

Airfix did something similar on their 1/48 Lynx and 1/72 Seaking models, but used decals instead. Actually while I think of it - I used to do that with 1/72 instrument panels too.
