Again a stunner pumped out by Carlos. The carrier deck adds a lot of context. Will it be a permanent couple or are you going to use it as a general base for photo sessions?

I like the toned down hinomarus. The light green ring is quite different

The base is just a general base for photos or IPMS events and such.

Those are from an Aeromaster set. The kit decals had the white rings as this aircraft has when it was restored. But the actual aircraft had the painted over rings when captured, so the Aeromaster decals provided the type of hinomarus required.

I'm finally putting some paint on the B-26K. It is a pretty complex pattern so I am doing it in sections. The darker color is Floquil medium green, haven't got much Floquil paint left but it is good stuff.
The garage project continues as the long stretch of rain has abated. While the walls have been up for awhile, there has been a lot of work completed on the big beams laying about on the slab, just moving them to where I could work on them was a job in itself, involving levers and several of those cheap dollys you can get at Harbor Freight. The beams all had to be cut to length, and due to the size that required doing one cut and then rolling the other side up to finish the cut. I didn't move the beams to the saw, I moved the saw to the beams. The saw is a Dewalt miter saw with a 12 inch blade, one of my favorite tools. Two of the beams that are each 17' 10 1/2" long had to have the top cut to the pitch of the roof, the plywood roof sheathing will rest there. That was done with a rough cut with a sawzall, and the final surface was made with a powered hand plane working down to lines I had marked before the work was started. Those beams are 5 1/2 X 13 1/2. A lot of drilling was done on the beams for the bolts that tie things together. There is one more beam to work on, then it will be time to hoist this stuff in to place.

Looking good John - both the model and the garage. So what's going in the garage when she's finished?

Here is what is currently on my workbench today:
You'll be able to follow the progress on these in my Maddog Manufacturing 2022 Grand Re-opening.

Well, it's meant to be my man cave, so anything model related. Probably no cars!
I wish you were here too, Mark. I need somebody big and strong to lift all those beams up there!
Actually, I've made arrangements to borrow a crane for that part. Too big for me, but I'll need some sky guys to help position them.
