My buddy Casey and I studied Old Norse for awhile. That was illuminating! Then Casey went on to Swedish—not entirely smoothly but at least with an interesting foundation. Cheers, my friend.

AND, back to the build with a brief update.

The last couple of days has not been too productive as I had hoped for. Some work with details, such as landing gear, tyres etc.
I skipped the idea to scratchbuild brake lines due to the idea to have a out of the box build.. Which of course will not really be the case due to the AM belts I ordered.. But ja, I am fine with these twins..





However most of the time has been dry fitting back and forth the wings, nacelles, bays, engines etc. pretty complex construction.

First fit with a fully build engine caused this sort of gap issues, just does not fit inside the nacelle.


So, I took the other engine, that was just semi-assembled, lacking pretty many details and did the same dry fit test:


Looking pretty good and the fit in general is excellent (despite the engine hassle). As none of the engines will be visible in the finished build, I can quite easily make sure that they fill fit perfectly inside the nacelles.

Them fabric belts are going to look amazing in that pit! The gear bays are also looking good and used. I've noticed in a lot of Dragon and Eduard kits, If you don't want to display the engine you have to leave a lot of stuff off the motor or you will have fit problems like this.

My Grandpa tried to teach me and my cousin some Finnish years ago, It seemed like such a hard language we picked up German a lot easier I think mostly since my Grandma still speaks more German than English. My Grandpa who was a Journeyman for Delco also knew some Swedish since his boss knew Swedish and German but little English. Nowadays in this country it's strange to hear anything but English I hear out west there is a lot of Spanish but don't see that around Indiana.

That weathering process for the gear bays looks great Kari. Did I miss your process on those bays?

Thanks Clint, yes they will! Must try to find Johns (Jkim) post where he mentiones how he did do the "weathering" of those fabric belts.

And a lot of languages there! Indeed, Finnish is pretty difficult language to learn!

Thanks Joe, oh, indeed, I missed totally taking pictures while working on them..

However, the approach was pretty same as with the cockpit; black base priming, layer of RLM02, dry brushing, oil washes and still washes with pigments, getting some dusty "corners" here and there. I did a much lighter weathering nevertheless, as that part will not really be visible when the bird is ready.
