Looking for statue thing - difficult to describe.

Post by Skil Phil »

In the 60's there were a set of comic type statues for painting that were I think resin.
This was about the time that Rat Fink came on the scene. They looked like something that could have come from MAD magazine.
I remember the weight lifter with bulging, veined eyeballs and burst biceps and I think the barbell was nailed to the floor.
They were about 100mm (4") high.
I also remember a surfer and scuba diver
Anybody remember and are there still around?
Thanks

Not quite. Has some interesting stuff though. Like the gear shift knobs.

I remember those. I think Owl nailed.it.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

That is close. Maybe even the same.
I do not remember it as a kit but memory does some strange things as you age :)
Are they still available? If so any leads?
Thanks OWL.

I also had a number of stand alone plastic figures that were molded. Same idea.

I am sure the ones I had were stand alone figures.
Would like to find a source. Stand alone or kit.
Bit of comic relief.

Lindberg re-issued those "Weird-Ohs" kits a few years ago.
Round Two now owns the Hawk name and molds.

Thanks for the link. Nothing on their site that I could find though. Kits only go back about 3-5 years.
Will do some looking for Hawk kits.
