In Civil Air Patrol, we used to fly the low level military training routes that the B-52s used. Took a crewmember with and had a ball flying those 172 and 182s about 500 feet marking towers on the maps. Occasionally, when flying CAP training or search missions and the routes were active, we would be at about 1500 to 2000 feet and these things would be flying below us. Had 4 F-4s go below me one day and I was at 1500 feet. That was fun.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
