Lots of things going on in the big scale recently. Getting more and more interesting even vor modelers who want to have a big collection of fighters and bombers of all decades and eras.

Its not my scale, but if I was to go for a 1/32 kit, its more than likely to be a kind of "flagship" for my display. And what better flagship model than a mustang??

The early Merlin engined Mustangs are nice. I know Trumpeter did one within the past few years. I am sure HK will put out a top notch beautiful kit. (with a correspondingly high price) Just not something that I will be picking up anytime soon. I already have more 1/32 kits in my stash than I have room to display them, including a couple of P-51s...
Not that Mustangs are very big, but...

An HK pony will positively find a great deal of favour within the large scale community, and I'm also quite confident, HK will do a fine job on it. However, I will gladly pass on on the Stang and wait (impatiently) for the Spey Phantoms instead. Any future Griffon-powered Spits from HK will be most welcome, though...

A 1/32 scale P-51 Mustang isn't really all that big.

Quality tooling. That´s what I am curious to see. My HKM DO 335 has stunning surface detail on wings and fuselage. But lacks detail in the wheel bay, front radiator mesh and rear engine room, IMHO. Also so far I am not too impressed on fit issues, as others have already noticed. Given this kit has a price tag of about Euro 170 to 200 (!), equalling USD 180.00 to 214.00 at least this kit is a rip-off in my opinion. Way overpriced.
I already spend about Euro 100 on the most needed after market stuff!
HKM does nice kits, but I guess they rushed on the Do 335 to make money?
