This is Tamiya's early 1970's vintage KV-1 kit that I built as for an older "Weekend Madness" GB on FSM a few years back. I replaced the kit tracks with the alternate rubber band set from a Trumpeter KV-1 kit as they had better detail, added some cast texturing on the turret, and replaced the cable portion of the kit tow cables with parachute cord guts. I used dry transfers for markings of a Guards unit, Voronezh area, in 1942. This is a clean build for me in armor, pretty much factory delivery new, but I really did not have the time to go to town on weathering. Perhaps one day...

They leave the factory clean so it is a realistic build. And in 48 hours no less, I still have to achieve that.

She's purty. LIke the stinger on the turret!

Nice work, Stik.

Thanks for looking in and your feedback guys.

Borg, yes every tank does start out clean... but they get dirty so quick after that....

Lyle, that stinger is a nifty little nasty surprise...

Thanks Shark... what did I do with the other 40 hours? Why I went shark fishing of course ;)
