My year of builds. Yes, more than one in 2015

I really need to spend 2016 cleaning out and up my room. It looks like a tornado went through...in full afterburner. Too embarrassed to even post a picture of he mess. I do "straighten" it up after a build. Anyway, as near as I can tell, this was the first one in 2015.

1.Revell DC-3 in Eastern Air Lines livery, 1/48. There is a serious affection for the DC-3 in my life. I love them. They are what defines an airplane!

2. Academy P-40B in 1/72. Truly a humble start.

Then I hit a point where things went to the "Shelf of Someday" They are ohhh so close and will be finished up. The 321 is being painted and is about 80% and then needs decals and fiddley bits.

3.Italaeri 1/71 Me-321 Gigant (about 87.3%) This represents about 4 that were started and not finished. Oh, the shame. I may try to whack them into some shape, soon.

4. Revell 1/32 UH-1D Huey. This was a sample kit from Revell. Thanks guys.

5.This was for a GROUP BUILD...you guys remember those, right? In Foreign Service. Revell 1/32 Spitfire Mk. 5C

6.Tamiya 1/35 T34/76 for another GB - the Eastern Front.

7. The Revell 1/32 Grumman F-4F, Smithsonian edition. If it were not for Handiabled, this would have been trashed. Plastic was so brittle it broke if you look at it funny. The landing gear has always been a problem for me on this one and true to form, it fought me. I think we beat it somewhat this time.

8.And finally, the Lindberg 1/48 Grumman OA-9 Goose. Not a bad kit at all as for fit. Pretty nice, actually.

Well, there you have it. The first time ever I've done this. The first time I can remember completing 7 models. Really close to 4-5 more. The little Sherman was done last December and I have the Me-321, P-80 and a Spitfire that need a few things. So, This year, who knows. Should be able to beat eight.

Well you had a more successful year than me Lyle - I only managed 5 and those were all 1/72!

That's a great looking bunch of builds - great work Lyle!

Cheers!

Stuart

All wonderful builds - even the ones you conquered with more than its fair share of headaches. Somehow I missed the P-40 and DC-3 WIPs.

Those are some great builds, I too like the lines of the classic old DC-3, and to see a few of them still flying around is pretty cool! :shoutout:

I agree. I think I have 6 more in the stash, including some C-47. They are marvelous aircraft.

I even like the upgraded version that the Forest Service is using with the turboprops, I'll admit, its not as cool sounding as those old radials, but its still a cool looking bird.

You have an eye (no pun intended) for armor, Lyle. That tank stands out of your nice 2015-collection.

When I look at these pictures I can clearly see that there is somebody here who loves his hobby. I like that a lot!
