1/48 Dornier Do 335 B-2 (Finished..)

Hello, I thought I'd take you folks along on my latest endeavor. I'm not much into the Luftwaffe what could have beens, often dubbed "Luftwaffe '46" subjects, however, the Pfeil (Arrow) is one of those exceptions. What intrigues me about the 335 is that nothing in the allies arsenal could touch it. The push-pull design propelled this turkey to close to 500 mph. Apparently it could do 350 on one engine. As with so many German designs, it was another case of too little too late. I could not determine if any reached combat units, however, I have read that one Tempest pilot tried to chase one down and failed.
The example I'm building is the B-2,which was the heavily armed bomber destroyer version. Along with its normal armament, it carried two extra MK. 103 30 mm cannons in the wings. It's my understanding only one was built in this configuration which is one of the kit options. I plan to build this machine. For this project I procured Quickboost exhausts and True Details wheels.
Of course I started with the cockpit. Its fantastic out of the box with no need for aftermarket. Actually, I have an Aries pit on hand and truthfully I saw no need to use it. It's kind of like replacing the Tamiya P-47 cockpit with resin........an absolute waste of time. Tamiya suggests RLM 02, but as far as I know, all late war pits were RLM 66. I went with Gunze RLM 66. I used a set of color PE belts and called it a day.
I tried to use the kit's instrument dial decal but it disintegrated (a hint that I'm gonna need AM decals?.....you betcha!)......so I improvised. I sliced the indivdual dials out of an old decal sheet I had and added the individual dials doused with Micro Sol. They sank right into the bezels. Not too shabby.
The cockpit is on one side and the bombay is in the other side of the same piece. Its logical to knock them both out at the same time. Apparently the B-2 had a gas tank instead of a bomb.
Here's a test fit of everything in place. What a dream so far. Not too bad for one night of work.
I hope the rest is this easy.
