To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Re: B-29 "Doc" - first flight in less than 1 hour
Have seen the first flight on the Net. What a beautiful sight!! A highly polished marvellous B-29!!! I think I can imagine the pride of those volunteers after years of work.

It took sixteen years. What a beauty that is.

That is so cool! I really need to go to the states and see some air shows there.
How about Fifi and Doc in formation? I would pay good money to see that.

There was some hope of that on Saturday. FIFI was in the air at the time. Seems they may have cut the flight of Doc short. I thought the briefer on the video said 30-45 minutes. There is no doubt it will happen.BorgR3mc0 wrote:That is so cool! I really need to go to the states and see some air shows there.

They had an engine warning light that came on during the flight. They found out it was just the light and nothing wrong with the engine.

I had not seen that. I'm sure there was some puckering at that point, but it is good that it was nothing more.Medicman71 wrote:They had an engine warning light that came on during the flight. They found out it was just the light and nothing wrong with the engine.

They also had a bomb bay door come open prior to take off.

Good, at least, that they didn´t lose a wheel... Those B-29s have been pure miracles in technology and science back in their time. Computers to guide the remotely controlled guns! Imagine that! So, an open bomb bay door or a simple red light is nothing!
