Way to go John! Congrats to your grandkids for their models; they do indeed look very happy! I remember that thrill when I finish something; sometimes it still happens!

Been doing a bit of modelling whilst on holiday - Hobbyboss's 1/72 F-14A - it's been pretty chilled thus far - here's my bench!

Image

And here's were I am - cockpit mostly complete. I did have a PE set for this kit but I just couldn't be arsed to use it - far too much faff...

Seat belts from the bottle of wine we had last night :giggles:

Just started on the nose gear/bay.

All to sound of bombs dropping and fast jets flying over my head - the local MOD live firing ranges are five miles up the road. I've yet yo actually see if they're Typhoons or F-35's but I'm hoping I'll get a glimpse.

Cheers!

Beautiful but tiny workspace :giggles: Nice seatbelt idea. Coming along nicely.

Stuart, you are really an expert to adjust yourself, or should we say, your bench to any possible location or place ( like in your car for some years ago) !!

Have a great continuation of your vacation and enjoy another ”seatbelt raw material” bottle ! :giggles:

Thanks John! The foil is actually pretty easy to work with.

Thanks Clint - it is pretty good normally but not so much today - the sea fog has rolled in bigtime.

Thanks Kari - we shall definitely be enjoying a few more bottles - so I should have plenty of raw material on hand :giggles:

It's pretty easy to organise some modelling stuff to bring if you think about what you need - I just packed it into a couple of small sandwich tubs and put them under the drivers seat. It helps obviously not using an airbrush, but then I don't plan on doing the airframe painting here anyway - so I haven't brought my wet palette etc.

I’ve said it before, Stuart is a wizard! Great Dad, too!
I find dense fog quite peaceful...unless you are driving or flying in the stuff.

Well, here's what's been keeping me away from one bench, but is progress toward another. Inspection next Tuesday for the foundation.

Hey thanks Lyle - that's very kind of you to say!

Me too - I love the fog.

Stuart that is an awesome site for the bench. Even when the fog rolls in.

John, that new room is coming along. Man that is gonna rock when you get it done!.

Here's what's on my bench; sans Antonov...

I've even started a few others after this pic was taken too.
