Re: AMT 1991 Silverado 454 SS-Gloss Coat 03/03
Did some clean up and polish work on the cab and body today. It had a couple of nasty dust bunnies in the paint and I broke out the fine sanding pads and then it was off to the Novus. Worked like a charm. Almost at a point to where I can start assembling everything and watching all the hard work for the last few months come together.

such great finishes. I realize you may have shared before, but would you (at your leisure) put together the steps?
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

I can do that Lyle. It's not as difficult as you may think though. Just a little time consuming and requires a lot of patience. I used to think that folks just sprayed the perfect finish on and that was it. I mean.....that's how my Challenger build worked out. Just sprayed it on from a friggin' can for cryin' out loud...….and that was it. No need to wet sand or polish. Just perfection. Turned out that was all a one time shot....a fluke or whatever. I think Hell did actually freeze over that day because everything just went right on that one. I chased and I chased but it would be another 3 years till I got a shine equal to the Challenger ….only this time it took a ton of wet sanding and polishing and it has ever since.LyleW wrote:such great finishes. That is a very impressive finish, Joe. Black is so difficult to get right, sort of like yellow in a way. You always seem to pull the rabbit out of the hat.
