You’re off to a fine start Atom. Just have fun with this, and don’t worry about impressing anybody but yourself.

Doing as much as I can until I get the supplies to finish the interior, painted more items in Mr Surfacer and assembled as much as I can while the fuselage is dry fitted:

Man that pit really needs some details! Along with some RLM66 for the IP!

Thank you. Looks like this build is on hold as I wait on supplies.

Tired of waiting, did more of what I could, did some basic Tamiya tape belts since this kit does not come with PE and I am not about to rob my Profi Kit for them. Also since this build is with a closed cowl and remembering how much a of pain it is to fit the upper cowl with the engine in I opted to saw the cylinder heads off and attach the exhaust stubs to them and then glue them in place. It is not pretty one bit but if you are going to button up an Eduard 109, this will be less fighting later.

Now I am as far as I can go for now since I am waiting on my gloss clear to wash that interior!!

Nice. Very nice!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Great approach. I am trying to convince the AMS suffering part of me to just let go of the idea to build a detailed 109 cockpit. The AMS side of me keeps pushing for aftermarket. What is great about your choice here is the kit itself is so fabulously detailed. I mean, sincerely, wow!

I do think I am going to conduct an experiment by making 1/72 seatbelts from paper...

I did simple belts, you can add hooks from bent wire. It is easy to slap PE on a build but this way take some work.

Thanks gents, well did a very subtle wash on the interior and dry brushed some wear, glued the fuselage and wings together, added the cowl and canopy. Next is to mask and cover areas that I dont want paint and then spay some paint down.

Nothing exciting at the moment.

Oh I did have to sand the crap out of the lower cowl due to the inevitable step that is created... This is the weak point on the kit IMO, a locating tab would have worked wonders. Oh well. Get to deal with that on the next go around as well.
