Thank you both!
Indeed this many tiny parts take their toll on me: I just spent about 20 minutes, glueing small handles and door latches. Now a break is a good idea.
But small steps, too, get me nearer to the goal!

Thomas! Your work with the soldering iron is most impressive! Very very clean! Also what is your new background this time? It appears soft like felt. Your work is the work of a master!

Wow! Just caught up with this build. Really nice work! And here I thought I was insane with all the PE I use.

Oh and if the CIWS is firing on a ship, that's bad news as it's the very last line of defense against missiles. CIWS also stands for "Christ It Won't Shoot!"

Bruce, there is no magic working with a soldering iron. On my side, it´s more kind of luck... :quotes:
The background is just another piece of cardboard, as one could get everywhere. Oh, thank you, Sir!

Not really much to show today. I am still working fiddly PE parts and lots of handles and so on. Looks like a small kit, but this one keeps you busy!
There are templates given in the manual, to help in positioning the PE steps on the gun´s mounts. Wished they had given them in a kind of pre-cut vinyl! I had the idea to do a scan of the templates, then enter the scan into our Silhouette Cameo´s Designer Edition software. This allows to create an outline of the templates, that can be adjusted and cut using the Cameo.

These are enlarged cuts, for better visibility.

First results in paper. Will try to do those templates using Tamiya tape or something similar.

I also was busy thinking about how to do those PE steps. I am not too sure about glueing them using CA glue, so I tried my soldering station again. In hindsight I better would not have bent the tiny feet those steps are glued onto the cannon´s mount, for it´s easier to clean the soldered spots later. But well...

Here we have the steps, soldered in about 5 minutes. I got them a bath in alcohol to remove any grease and flux. You see them trying on a piece of tissue. Will file any surplus solder later.

To be continued.
