BorgR3mc0 goes real space: SpaceShip Two (Revell 1/144)

All things jet, no props and Stik...no armor even though the M1 is turbin powered.

Yes, it is bigger then you might expect. The size of a short haul airliner. Amodel makes a SpaceShip One in 1/72 so that is on my wishlist now.

I started sanding. And am halfway. The starboard fuselage is still the be sanded.

It's a very interesting design - it's basically two aircraft joined together at the wingtips. It makes you wonder how big the forces must be in the middle of the centre wing. :hmm:

I'm not sure I'd want to fly in it actually.

Me neither!

I would want to fly in the rocket powered mini plane they drop from the wobbly centre and reaches space! :lashed:

I imagine that central wing box spar would be on the same design plane strengthwise as twin boomed transports like the C-119 and Nordatlas.

It’s not like there are many surplus B-29 or B-52 motherships left for this sort of thing. Modern jet lines all have a low wing design so attaching the test ship is problematic. They had to design everything for this: The research ship and the carrier mothership.

Okay, I am still alive. Doing fine, lockdown like the rest of the world.
And although it is only a month before moving I have done some modelling.

The model was painted with white paint from a rattle can. Went on smooth. Then a coat of Future. And then the decals. Lots of decals! Now I remember why I like building soviet aircraft, slap some red stars on and you are done! Not here, there are dozens a of decals!
Fortunately the quality it very good. Thin but strong.

Lastly I did some detail painting with brush but with the use of some masking tape for straight lines.

That's one funky aircraft. Colorful too!
