BorgR3mc0 goes real space: SpaceShip Two (Revell 1/144)

All things jet, no props and Stik...no armor even though the M1 is turbin powered.

BorgR3mc0 goes real space: SpaceShip Two (Revell 1/144)

Post by BorgR3mc0 »

So, I am a bit bogged down with my Bf-109. And on a holiday. So, I chose to take a “easy” model with me. Another advantage is that I do not have to choose between a jet or a rocket!
The Revell SpaceShip Two is in 1/144 scale, it has a fantastic decal sheet, all white: that sounds easy enough.

Being on holiday I decided just to build sub assemblies and put it together when I get home. Most of the windows are easily glue in because they are quite large parts. (Several small windows on a large part). However the forward windows are tiny and fit in only one way. They where horrible to glue in.
The engines look similar but actually are handed. I found that out then glued the first one together... my mistake. I should have taken more notice of the instructions.

Very cool! I’ve seen this kit in the store and always wondered how it looked.

Indeed a cool kit, was not aware of its existence as a kit.

Hmm, I must also try to bring a kit with me while travelling in work. Not a bad idea, not at all!

Nice!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Looking back at the progress photos, I just realized that's gonna be a big one for 1/144 scale.

Yorkshire was great but I am home once again. And working on this kit.

I did a shot of a test fit with a P-40 for comparison. As you can see it is a pretty large bird. About the size of a DC-9.
I also masked the windows and started on putty. I used Sintofer automotive putty thinned with cellulose thinner. It looks worse than it is. The putty is wide but very thin. Like thick paint.
