LyleW's C-54
Re: LyleW's C-54
That thing is a beast Lyle - looking pretty good though. I very rarely get a decent fit all the way along a fuselage.

Don’t you just hate it when you test fit, it works then time to glue it it doesn’t?

Enough that it almost became a wall hanging!
Stuart and John...thanks! I truly love the a/c (and all from this era).

Looking great Lyle! I'll be sure to watch out for those fit issues when I start mine.

I think it is a precision issue on my part. But, do be careful.

Will do. I expect to be starting mine fairly soon. I found it's time to start building many of these big models so I can reduce the number of huge boxes taking up space.

Re: LyleW's C-54
Lyle this is coming along nicely!! Wow...... …..that landing gear is intricate. I think the use of CA glue is a good bet myself.
Re: LyleW's C-54
Joe, thanks. She is a big girl, alright and a lot of very small parts. The nose gear fit pretty well if you do it correctly! I do not plan on installing that until much, much later.
Here is where we are today. Rudder and elevators installed. Did some more filling and sanding. Still like spraying a color (silver or black) and then sanding the area. Makes it easier to find low spots.
