1/48 A-7B VA-93

All things jet, no props and Stik...no armor even though the M1 is turbin powered.

I did a couple applications of Micro Sol last nite after I took and posted these photos. The shark mouths are snuggling down nicely.
That is amazing stuff. I had printed some decals (German crosses) on white decal paper. placed a piece of the backing on the model and almost got it to smooth out with Microsol! :giggles:

I guess it’s been almost a week since my last update. Aside from the final decal fine tuning with Solvaset, and touch ups with appropriate colors where needed on the old decals where they cracked, I also started doing detail painting and finishing up on the ordnance.

Washes and decals applied to ordnance (and wheels, no decals there). Just need to add some brown stripes to the Shrikes, but my brown paint pen was not co operating...

one detail I noticed in many photos was that the squadrons painted the Shrike rails and TERs with the squadron color. In the case of VA-93, that’s blue.

And I painted up the refueling probe tip...

Now I need to seal up the decals and start the weathering...

Looking good. Ordinance and wheels... oddly enough make or break an aircraft kit. Well done.
Thanks,

Thanks John! And yes they do make or break the project- they need to blend in properly.

Thanks Mike. I’m mostly happy with the progress so far.
