Matchbox 1/72 Victor - 'I'm with you Lyle!'

All things jet, no props and Stik...no armor even though the M1 is turbin powered.

The three piece tail needs work, too. Oh, almost all wheels have flash. If you want to mask the hubs, they are about 1/4 of an inch... 0.23 inches or 5.842 mm.
It's ok I do imperial! Too many hours working on Cessnas! Thanks for the tip!

Don't be so sure, yours' is coming along aces!

Wow, I was just reading about that after I read this. Victory or death. And from what I read, apparently it was a cost a force availability aspect that was used as an excuse for not correcting the situation. Martin Baker developed a viable system for the remaining crew members (at least on the Vulcan), but it was never funded and fielded. I’ll wager that one could have been developed for the Victor as well. Damn those politicians.
I didn't know that - That's pretty awful.

I think their prospects were pretty grim - I do know of at least one crew that was lost during a refuelling accident where they lost the whole tail section after a collision. At least one of the pilots got out but the crew was pinned to the roof of the cockpit when the aircraft bunted over. I'm actually quite angry that there was a possible system that could have saved them.

Very sobering reading isn't it. :hmm: You'd have thought the ministry would have have has a higher regard for their crews than that.

Very true Lyle - sadly.

Nothing much to report - just been slapping several coats of white and black on various parts. I'm building the inner wing sections first, mainly so I can just forget about them then and enjoy the rest of the build.

:hmm: still trying to figure out what to do for an ip - I might have to photocopy some instrument decals from other kits and cut them to fit.

was there no IP decal? here is a copy of the Revell sheet. Remember, you won't see it.

:lashed: Thanks Lyle!

No MB didn't do IP decals - although it would have been nice for this one! (now where's my print button!)
