Mask and paint the stripes... create a new headlight lens from clear sprue....

You can make your own lenses by heating the end of a clear sprue until it softens. Then press it in a convex surface, ideally with a corded structure to replicate the glass. Followed by some sanding and dry fitting and Bob's your uncle.

Were not all the slot car bodies 1/32? Perhaps this is why it is 1/32. Fortunate for large scale aircraft builders.
