I'm on a roll here. Up next, I'm tackling another kit that's been put off for the last 10 years. It's time I get this one done. This AMT kit should be easier to build compared to the reissued AMT kits, I've done.
Several parts have been painted including the interior. It's currently being treated in an Easy Off bath to strip off the white I originally was going to do it in Pearly White - using gloss white and sprayed on a pearl clear coat. This time I'm going with a 2 tone color scheme - Gloss black to the trim line and either silver or pale yellow for the bottom half.

Re: BlackSheep's '62 Chevy Impala SS
I’ve decided to go with a gloss black upper to gloss antique white. Didn’t like the silver with the black and wasn’t too crazy with the pale yellow for the lower half. I’m really excited to dive into it. Knowing I’ve made up my mind on the colors made me motivated to get started on it.

I've got that one in the stash and have built the hard top. Excellent kit.

Ok... a quick question regarding the side moldings. I know there’s chrome in it but what color is it in between the chrome moldings as it widens towards the rear? Is it white, aluminum, or either? Looking a different pics of the Impala SS side molding, I can’t tell.

Some progress pics.
I chromed these up....
Engine to chassis...
Undersides done. Remember I bought Graphite Metallic paint? From now on, it'll be my go to color for all auto gas tanks. I saw a youtube auto kit review video of someone using this color for the gas tank and I liked it.

Tom, did you chrome those rims with the Molotow Chrome Pen?

Something fishy about the muffler placement. Looking sharp. Have you tried tamiya clear smoke over chrome? Really makes it look great.
Thanks,
John
