Man if that doesn't look like an arc welding helmet I used in metalshop!

I decided to enhance the valve covers to cut down some of the chromey look on them.. (used Testors Black Detail Wash)

Looks good. Tamiya clear smoke also does a great job on turning toy chrome into something more realistic

Before I say this I want to make mention that your engine looks great Tom!! That carburetor will mostly be hidden underneath an air cleaner but I've gotta say if there's been one area of auto modeling that's been totally neglected (save for just a few instances) it's the carburetor. This one here happens to be a better representation of one but I've seen kits that looked like they've had a box or a "blob" for that piece. The last few years I've turned to either other kits for better examples or to Fireball Model Works for them.

I'm merely making mention of this so that when read , other options are available to everybody. Here's the link to Fireball: http://www.fireballmodels.info/

I'm looking forward to more of this beautiful car being built.

I'm going to need to pop off a couple parts. One being the dashboard to paint the trim around the glove box - an oversight on my part :headbang: and the carburator. I need to strip the chrome off and paint it a color similar to what I've done on the Judge kit.
