Thank you Mike. Nice to hear that you like this little guy.

Absolutely stunning use of "subtle" weathering. I do like em dinged and scratched but let's face it, everyday use is just not all that bad. Great finishes always catch my eye and this one is nigh perfect.
Now that we know that.... What have we learned?...

Thank you Bob. Everyday use can be pretty rough by line units, but the army is pretty serious about maintaining their equipment, especially in peacetime. Doubly so for the C.O.s jeep, as this one is. It may get beat up in the field, but will get fixed up as soon as possible.

Thank you Stuart. We all need these little projects from time to time.

Well, nearly a year after completing this build, I finally was able to take it into IPMS for a competition. I threw together a little base in the afternoon, then in the evening, off we went. Phoenix IPMS runs their contests a bit different than OC IPMS where I used to be, so I had to start at the bottom of the totem pole again, due to being a new member. They also only judge by chapter judges for the theme of the month, as opposed to all builds in a skill level in a free for all chosen by all members. Long story short, my little old 151 won in the new guys armor competition last nite

No plaques, plates, or other such things are awarded at monthly meetings (perhaps that’s why the annual dues are so minimal), but winners do get a gift certificate to the local hobby shop of their choice. This time I chose Andy’s Hobby HQ.

Congratulations on the win Carlos, most well deserved. It feels great getting back to meetings again doesn't it?
