Now that is a real beauty! My favorite warbird that I have seen and heard up close and personal running and flying. A big beautiful brute of a flying machine!

Beautiful built Thomas! :shoutout:

The spinner was first airbrushed in red. Fisher Models gives you the white tulip parts with a fine black outline; these individual tulip decals have ben applied. After some days to dry the overlapping parts of those individual tulip decals have been sanded, carefully avoiding the fine black line. Indeed this fine line is all that has been left of the tulips on the spinner!

The fine lines then have been masked for the white part of the spinner. I tell you: I really had more steady hands back then! Final finish was a gloss coat.

Wow! You're a bold man to mask over or near decals. That is VERY risky territory... not to jinx you or anything like that... sending your spinner positive waves...

Naa. All went fine. I just gave a coat of gloss over the decals, reduced the tackiness of the tape, and done!

What John wrote about textures definitely applies to my comments, Thomas! I appreciate the way you translate and correct scale effect through different textures: larger areas receiving a heavier impasto, textures, and smaller areas such as in this case your cockpit receiving a thinner, finer wash with a more delicate tone. Beautiful!
