Thanks Carlos!

I did as John (E) suggested (warm water & nothing else) and waited for 12 hrs before trying to remove the carrier film. I had some struggle with the red band, some of the decal came off (a small, few mm big piece).
I will drybrush some silver/aluminium on the spot, maybe some groundpersonell hit the Zero with a wagon or so.
But the carrierfilm on the tailnumber came really nicely off!
Many thanks to Remco and John helping me with this decal issue! Without your feedback and suggestions, I would still sit and wait for the postman bringing the extra AM decalset I ordered...
I will, going forward with the decaling process, take off the carrierfilm from those few decals I can and continue the warm-water process for multi-piece-decals.
Slowly but surely is the rule here!

Re: Kari's bench 2021 -->
Most of the decal work is done, still a few stencils need to be applied though. Mostly those unvisible no one else than one self sees.
I decided to paint the red stripes on the upperside of the wing instead of using decals (Those thin red lines, not sure what the official name is). A pain in the butt even with thick Tamiya-type decals, so why not mask and paint?
Masking is of course essential..
When spraying red color, you really want to play safe
And then hoping that I sprayed enough of red..
So far so good..
Moment of truth
Pfuuuh, I'm happy and satisfied of the result!
I start to believe for real that I will finalise my first and last build in 2021 !

Excellent mask work on that area. I cheaped out and went with the paint pen for less than exact results. Bravo Kari

That is really good masking

No step marks, Kari. There are often some Japanese characters next to the stripes. The stripes look great.

Thank you Carlos, Clint, Stuart, John and John!

Thanks! And yes indeed, there are still some stencils that needs to be added still next to them.jeaton01 wrote:No step marks, Kari. There are often some Japanese characters next to the stripes. The stripes look great.

Re: Kari's bench 2021 -->
Finally my first finished model for 2021 is done!
No, it's not the Zero yet, but the 1/48 Airfix P-51D Mustang, that I started to build January 12th 2021, almost a year ago!
It was 95% ready for months and months and months.. And just stalled when those bits and pieces had to be done.
Next in line, the Zero !

Re: Kari's bench 2021 -->
That is really sharp looking. I like the color scheme.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
