Interesting narrative. I’ve never built an Arma kit. Sprue gates are from the devil!
The mask template is a nice touch. Kit makers should do this!

To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
Re: Kari's bench 2021 -->
Ouch! And those are some HUGE sprue gates too...
Having attempted one of these and failed, I'm not sure I'd bother with another of these ARMA Hurricanes - far too fiddly for my liking. It's just a damn shame that Airfix never got around to making a metal winged mk.I Hurricane, as their kit is a cracker.

Interesting to see they offered a template for canopy mask.

I like the masking template but those sprue gates are a no for me.

Indeed, sprue gates are thick and the attachment points are all than optimally placed.
Now afterwards, I think, all the hype around Arma Hobby was a little bit overkill when it came out.
The kit is not that special after all, except the rather nice details.
Next struggle in line (was so close that this bird became a shelf queen due to so much hassle), the landing lights in the wing. Absolutely no fit, just did not go into place nicely or even at all in the beginning. Too bulky piece. It all ended up that my sanding went over and suddenly there was absolutely more space than the size of the clear part... had to add some "sprue goo" to save what could be saved. Sanding of course took off all the transparency of the piece
Well I hope some priming and paintwork will make it sort of decent. Still have one light to go and this is a bottle neck, no paintwork until this is fixed.

Sorry that this is fighting you so hard. Can you polish that piece? If anyone can save it, I believe you can!

Arma kits... Very much a case of the 'Emperors New Trousers' I think. I did want to get their P-39 but I've been a bit put off by the Hurricane. I suspect I will get one, I'll just have lower expectations.
I think that's half the problem though isn't it. It's not that any of these kits are bad or unbuildable (as you're proving with this Hurricane), its just that there is sooooooo much hype and build up around their release, that when you get one and find that it's not the 'wonder-kit' you were expecting, that it kills all the enjoyment. That's exactly what happened to me with that 1/48 Airfix P-51 I built. It's partly why I've stopped reading reviews.

Right to the point Stuart !
Not wanting to saw Arma Hobby any more, but noticed a "funnyish" detail in the numbering of these parts, no-no, not a mirrored picture..
