Thanks for all the good vibes. I really appreciate it . I wont be going in until the VA approves it and we vets know how quick the VA is on things. So I may be able to do some tinkering around until then.

Well I just got off the phone with my medicare sup company and they want 300 per eye. Which I think really isn't all that bad but when you don't have the funds it is a major hurdle. So in hind sight I need to get on the ball and rattle the VA to get this done.

Wishing you a highly successful surgery and recovery brother.

And you're right 300 per eye isn't bad at all considering the benefits you'll get out of it. I think the new rule for the VA is that they have 21 days....is it? to get you taken care of and then you can go to someone on the outside.

Good luck Paul. My wife also has this surgery coming up in a month or so. I hope your recovery is swift and complete Paul!

As a bit of encouragement Paul, I'll add that my wife's cataract surgery last week went well and she is healing quickly. She had really poor vision and started wearing glasses in 2nd grade. To be able to see without glasses or contacts, her bill was quite a bit higher but it was worth every cent if it helps her that much. Her other eye is scheduled for next week or the one after, I believe. So far, real good.

Getting old is not a game for the faint of heart is it Paul? I'll be 69 on December 29 and my wife Jackie will soon turn 67. Yes sir, diabetes for me? Check.(one can't outrun their genes) High blood pressure? Check. Overweight? Yeah. Sedentary? Too much. And other myriad issues and pains...sometimes I feel like all I can safely have is air and water, maybe some lettuce. Everything else comes with a price now doesn't it?

Looking forward to hearing good results from your surgery Paul!

I go on Thursday to the new VA hospital here in Tulsa for their eye exam which will make about 6 this year so far. I want this to be over. Maybe it will improve my mojo.
