Help in Halifax

Post by Ceaser_Sa1ad »

So I couldn't get my hands on a Might Mo, so I will just do the HMCS Sackville. It is currently "stationed" in Halifax as a museum piece. Sadly, I didn't get a really good look at it before they moved it into winter storage.
It is a Flower/Gladiator class corvette, and I will use the 1/350 Mirage Hobby HMS Spirae as the base. Might order photo etch, maybe not.

I will need different decals for the registration though.

A little work done.
The parts are so small. Considering this cost the same amount as the 1/700 Tribal class from Trumpeter but is about 3 times the width and maybe twice the length, I am really happy with it.

I am going to leave most of the small parts off until I paint, then add them. Also the instructions show you where to put rigging, so I may try that.

That looks to be coming along nicely! Keep it up....

I've never seen one of these kits built. The parts look excellent.

Rigging..... have fun with that. I did my best with Mighty Mo.

Spectacular little stopgap ships.
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting the head off a Hydra, two more take it’s place.

Ok the building portion is done. Now onto the easy part... painting.
Yes paint WILL be easier than assembly because you can't break tiny paint. The parts are placed on the sprues in very silly ways making anything that is skinny instantly break. That is why the life boat launching arms are not on here. I broke all of them.

For a size comparison, that is just a regular xacto knife.

You certainly got your model mojo back - cranking out the kits. I really like the looks of this class of ship. Coming along nicely.
Thanks,
