2021 was a good year for me modeling wise. Surprisingly I built more aircraft than armor this last year.

First up in aircraft, my Revell Germany 1/48 X-35 prototype

Next is my Monogram 1/48 Sopwith Camel

Hobbycraft 1/48 La-5, quick build for my great nephew

Image

AA 1/48 Chengdu F-7B (Chinese built and modified Mig-21), a long time shelf queen

Image

Image

Hasegawa 1/48 A6M5 Zero, another multi year shelf queen

And for armor…

My AMPS 12 Hour Challenge build of the ESCI 1/35 Leopard 2A3

Testors/Italeri 1/35 M47

So an average of one completion every two months. Although I actually finished most at the beginning and end of the year, not in the middle. This next year I aim to increase my completions… Thanks for looking

Man I still really like all that detail you put into the M47 engine compartment.

Nice collection, Carlos. Looking at your Camel brought to mind the Aurora SE-5A I built at the same time. I'd forgotten all about it. Fun modelling.

Yeah, I do need to build another ship sometime soon. Not really a car modeler, so not sure when I would take on one of those… :hmm:

I enjoyed doing that, and I sure needed to show off that engine work. But I don’t plan on doing that again… :headslap: My next M47 will have a closed engine deck, and no back dating like this one.

Yes, those classic Aurora biplane kits are fun to build. Not sure when I’ll build the next one, but I should build a French one next…

Didn’t you do another Patton tank with the colorful Tiger on the front this year?

Well done Carlos, all of them very high quality builds!

The Sophwit Camel is a really great build. We don't see so much of WW1 planes on our SPAM.

Great builds Carlos! I can imagine it feels good to finish some kits from the “shelf of doom”.
