Man Lyle this thing is gonna go kicking and screaming all the way to the end. Keep at it!
March as one, Don't look back
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall

it is. For sure.
Even getting paint is problematic. Bought a bottle of Alclad Chrome and a big bottle of the gloss black base from a dude on ebay. He is in Charlestown IN, just across the river. Close enough to go there. Ordered on May 2. Arrived on May 14th and it was not right. Rather than the primer, I got a 250ml jar of AK Sandy Terrain Acrylic.. we are now on three email exchanges to get the right stuff sent. Sheesh. I may just drive over there.

Oh,, I discovered something that any 6 year old would know. Water soluable glue and wet sanding do NOT work together well. Canopy just popped off. Not entirely a bad thing, though. I can clean it up and reinstall.

...............................................................* * * * * Rant Alert * * * *

............................................. .............................Feel free to not continue

The kit is winning. Arrogant confidence going in, much like the Russians. Both canopy sides now have cracks. I reattached them after cleaning up the edges of old glue. Now there is a 1/16" to 1/8" gap all the way down the center seam. So, it wins. Game almost over. I am tired and frustrated that my lack of skill has brought me to this point. Canopy and clear parts have always given me fits and still do. Vacuform is not a viable option, either, as I have no clue how to cut them out cleanly or attach them in a neat and tidy manner, much less simplly getting them glued in place. I have asked around for any of the kit canopy pieces and have gotten no responses. I really wan to complete this to honor my friend Dick Mulloy. So.....

A decision has been made to fill the gap and then paint the canopy black and add the framing as best i can. Now, how do i FILL that gap?

...............................................................* * * * * End Of Rant * * * *

You may now resume your normal programming.

Damn. That sucks Lyle. If i had one id pass it on.
What state is your vacform canopy in? Is it worth attempting to work with it? Maybe learn a new skill? You tube is a wonderful thing.
You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Yes, it is in pretty good shape. I am YouTube certified in a number of areas. Some quite dangerous.

I am still polishing the canopy, so who knows. I don’t think it is salvageable, though. Th center gap is huge.
