Yellow Wings
Re: Yellow Wings
Regarding the GB idea, jeaton01 floated a Golden Age GB some time ago, but there were about 3,578 other group builds going on at that time. It is high time to recognize this era. Build one, build them all! We can make it a Golden Era / Yellow Wings group guilc. July is good. I'll set it up for us.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Re: Yellow Wings
This is cool. I don't know if I have any aircraft that would fit in this, but I will eagerly follow along.
I wonder why the Navy went with Yellow Wings during the inter-war years?

Re: Yellow Wings
Both the Army & Navy went with yellow wings mainly for visibility and search & rescue purposes. If an aircraft went down, yellow usually stands out fairly well from most surrounding natural environments. In the air, it stands out well for anti collision purposes. That’s one reason military trainers used the color.
