Boeing 314 Clipper (1/144 Airfix)

Highlighting the aircraft during the interwar period between WW 1 and WW 2. Military and civillian. There are some great and colorful subjects and a number of air racers. Tuild one, Build them all!

Runs from July 1, 2022 until December 31, 2022

Ahh, but it is a Golden Era aircraft, so....upon further review, the ruling on the field is overturned!

Stuart, I am pretty certain that the 314's were in silver lacquer finish for corrosion control, and the the skin itself was anodized for the same reason. The 247 was also anodized and when not painted had a very patchy appearance. Here is 18612, the Capetown Clipper, after being stripped according to its file name.
