AMT 2017 Camaro "Fifty"-Recovery Time! 01/21

Post by mustang1989 »

I've been working on a pair of 1970-1/2 Camaros for the last couple of months. I am almost finished with my Z/28 version and was just about to get started on the Baldwin Motion Camaro when I found out that a good friend of mine at work is going to retire in late November. He owns a 2017 Camaro "Fiftieth" Edition and I thought I'd build him a going away present. It's rare when I do this as I always tend to feel under the gun of a time frame in which to get a build finished in time.

In any case, Here's the kit.

I already know this; I'm going to have to address........if you guessed it--you're right....the ride height at the front of the car.

Now this is no hit on the fella that built this as he did a great job with building it IMO. What I don't like is that God-awful gap between the top of the front tire and the wheel opening. WTH??!!

Hmmm... I may have to look into getting those Vallejo metallics at Hobby Lobby soon. :hmm:

Thanks John, Mark and Tom.

John: Thanks for the reference shot. It just goes to show that the stance is somewhat different than what AMT has theirs set up like. lol

Tom: These are a good alternative to some of the enamel/ lacquer based metalizers out there. PLUS it's frickin' humid here after the "monsoons" we've been under for the last few weeks. There aint no way in hell I'll be busting out with anything other than acrylic paints through an airbrush right now and these flow very well.

Joe I rented one if these on one of my trips to Florida before moving here. Of course it was a convertible. It was a blast to drive
