Re: Heller 1/48 Etendard IV M
Nice progress, Carlos. I don't worry about getting a blotchy white, I will certainly mess it up with oils from my hands anyway. But I am getting better at not doing that.

Great looking work there! You just keep getting better on top of already top notch skills!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

John & Lyle, thank you. By the time this one has been has decals on, wash, top coat, it will be hard to notice the variations in the color thru all of that.

So after an enforced prolonged delay, I’ve gotten back to work on this one. This week I airbrushed on the topside color using Xtracolor enamel. It took a bit of masking on the lowers also due to the nature of the paint scheme
Next up, decals…

Looks great. I've always liked the look of the Etendard family

Man, masking around wings on the fuselage is so much fun. Looks good, the finish line is closing in.

Re: Heller 1/48 Etendard IV M
Thanks guys!
TJ, I never thought much of the design until I built this kit. Now it has grown on me. Sort of reminds me of a cross between an early Skyhawk, and the F11F Tiger.
CB, I really like Xtracolor paints. They have an excellent color range. My only gripe is their slow drying times. Even using lacquer thinner here, it took hours for them to get surface dry. Several hobby shops where I used to live carried the full line back in the 90’s. I still have quite a few tins.
John, it feels good to be closing on the finish line! Finally!!!
Brandon, that masking was a hassle in some areas. Lots of fun doing the squadron color on the drop tank tips…

I actually have a few tins of xtracolor laying around. must be 20 years old at least. As you stated, the drying time is a turn off. Agree, they are good paints though.Stikpusher wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 10:05 am CB, I really like Xtracolor paints. They have an excellent color range. My only gripe is their slow drying times.
