You got this. Just another step in a journey that is testing your patience. Stay with it and it will all work out. Just don't rush it now just because you can see the finish line. Another few days or a week will be more helpful than trying to make an artificial deadline. Deep breath and carryon.

I know the feeling working on a kit and fighting you along the way.

Re: Revell's 1/48 P-61 Black Widow
Got a few hours in at the bench today.
First mission was to fix the shark mouth decals. It didn't matter what I did, they just wouldn't line up properly.
I went in with a small brush, and connected things. A little sloppy, but you won't really see that from even a foot away.
Some weathering done, and the exhaust staining added. I kept looking at it, feeling like something was missing, and I couldn't figure it out. So I just kept going along with my plan. Figured out it was the exhaust staining once I painted it on, lol.
Flat coated, hanging in the booth. I know, I know, it's supposed to be gloss black, but it was way too shiny for my liking. It still has a good sheen to it even with the flat coat.
Few more hours at the bench and I'll be able to finish this up. Need to pull all the masking, and do some final assembly. But that is going to wait until Sunday. Whiskey 7 is getting my attention tomorrow.

It's dirtier than it looks. I was also not trying to go overboard. Another thing is it's really hard to weather a black airplane, oil streaks don't show up!
Re: Revell's 1/48 P-61 Black Widow
Great job on the mouth fix. So looking forward to the final reveal. So do you flat coat it or matt or semi-gloss?
Thanks,
John

I don't think they looked shiny black very long, certainly not long enough to get the invasion stripes. Looking good, Keyda.

She’s got a bit of a gloss sheen here, leading the “Vic”
I’d go with a semi gloss topcoat myself…

I was gonna mention semi gloss clear coat. Good call, Carlos.

Great save on that shark mouth. And yes, black is very difficult to weather up. Your efforts look fantastic, keep going.
