If you can't fix it with duct tape, you're not using enough duct tape.

This is so cool watching this! I did one of these in 1/72 scale in my teens and so I hand brushed everything and used the kit decals. I still have that model sitting on my shelf and it is fun to check it out now and then. I love following this to see how this is supposed to look when masterfully built.

We are modelers - the same in spirit, in hunger to insanely buy newly released kits, hustlers in hiding our stash from our better halves and experts in using garbage as replacements for after-market parts.

Dude that’s so GREAT! I only have 1 of my 1st models and i know what you mean about that. I bought the Lindberg 1/124 Blue Devil destroyer at the Indianapolis show last year just so i could do a side by side build from age 9 to age 57
You should throw a pic of it in here, really!

Re: F-105D Billy Sparks - Hazel is Silver
Ok everything is painted now i think! Decals and final assembly, then some satin and dull coat. I’m thinking of some satin across the top horizontal surfaces and dull coat on the sides and bottom. Hoping to give the impression of sunlight on it. Any thoughts or bad experiences from you guys in trying this?
I sprayed some darker, dull aluminum style color, on some of the panels to break it up a, bit based on the pic stik posted a few pages back. It gave a really good idea of how the paint faded. I’ve found a pic or two since then to help decide on the way to weather the different panels. It’s funny how the camera catches some of the black base coat under the silver. After looking at the pic and then the model i can see it but didn’t catch how that alters the tone until i looked back at the pics so i think this is good given it’s going in a museum I don’t want to overdo it.
Time to celebrate
Napalm for the centerline MER is ready
Now Thursday I’ll work on cleaning up the ‘Tiger’ and by the end of the weekend I should be on to the base

yep I believe it is! "Sylvester" is in the process of painting himself into a tiger. I believe the theme is about what every man can become if and when he has to.
