He has the Tech Orders for paint specs on many USAF types from that era in the aircraft reference section of the site. And it sure sounds like you have a superb resource in Mr Davis at your IPMS chapter. We have no such resources here in Phoenix that I know of…
I am gonna have to look harder and broader on Cybermodeler. I found a set of ordnance loadouts there for the Thud but totally missed that. If i get out to Mesa to visit my buddy this year I’ll have to drop you a line and see if we can catch up.

All done with the painted graphics!
I had to touch up the blue on a star background. The white came out drying before it hit the plastic, too much air pressure and it was marbly. Some wet sanding and some new color and we’re all set :ballbat:

Taping it up

This is the olive drab straight up, right from the bottle…

I thought some modulation was in order  so I added 1 part zinc chromate yellow to the cup and sprayed just the top. Hope it shows in the lower quality pics

And here’s where i left it

You may be wondering after seeing these why I’m painting all the small stuff? Well the base color is going to be Vallejo’s new improved silver. I’ve had trouble with it peeling under the tape in the past. This new and improved bottle seems to have cured that :wow: so i tried it out on my AH-1Z Viper recently and it worked ok but I’m still running scared :whiteflag: which means I’m painting the “you have to sandblast it off lacquer 1st” and then put on the acrylics  hopefully done by Saturday if not Late Friday night. wish me luck!

Vallejo metal color, improved formula  I picked up a 0.5 needle for my Grex airbrush a couple weeks ago in anticipation of this. I was hoping a larger needle would keep it from plugging, I usually use a 0.3. Big success! hardest thing is just limiting the flow. I’m gonna have to set that Maxximum travel on my airbrush to keep from putting too much paint down though.
Now to let it dry for a day and then I’ll put a gloss coat on it so I can do decals yay

Edit - 4hrs later our hero is found pulling the tape.boy is this silver drying nice

Looks great! What’s the “new formula” you’ve talking about? I have a lot of it and it.

2 things pretty obvious, no wait, 3 things…
It says :quotes: new formula :quotes: on the side
It has a ball bearing in it
It’s not as grainy looking as the original ones i have. It is really smooth looking when you pour it.

That looks great! The color looks perfect for the lacquer used on the silver Project Lookalike Thuds. :shoutout:
