I've been collecting the Monogram B-17G kits for a long time, and have 9 in the stash. Doubt I ever paid more than $15 for one. Who would have thought they would be in the demand they seem to be now.

Well damn....

Curious... do you have the Visible B-17 kit in your stash? That one is a rarity for stupid money. I've seen it as a kid but never had the interest in building it. Now I wish I had. :headbang:

I can see jkim building that one. The incredible details he would put in it would be a sight to see.

I just sold one of those for $70.00 a couple of months ago.

Yes, I do have one of the visible kits, not the original issue kit but one they reissued some years back.

Remember that song 'the rubber band man? I've take quite a liking to it from some reason. But anyway..
I have most of the fuselage glued together now. Nose back to about an inch behind the radio compartment is all glued. lower nose turret are glued. Most of the vertical stabilizer and rudder are joined and belly, forward of the ball turret, about a one inch section has been glued. Will finish up tonight, i hope, then reinforce / backfill areas that are accessible with thick CA, like the vertical stabilize spine, tail gunners compartment spine, lower fuselage seam aft of the ball turret...

WOW! That's very nice indeed. I do think that the B-17 is the nicest looking WWII Bomber, even more so than the Lancaster.

What's your plan with the seams?

Thanks Stuart, I'm gonna stay clear of that best looking bomber argument though
