Hi Guys,

What colour paint do you use for your tyres on vehicles?

I have a K2/Y Ambulance I've just started and was planning on using Tamiya NATO black but I'm open to suggestions.

Cheers!

I use Mission Model Old Tire Black and can't remember the other tire color. NATO Black can work but I'd mix in a little white to tone it down. Maybe German Grey with a touch of black ....

After comparing samples of several shades of available paint to actual auto/truck tires (tyres, sorry Stuart!), I found my closest match to be Humbrol 32 dark gray enamel. Here's an example:

Lol! Well if your ancestors had bothered to pack a dictionary on the Mayflower you'd all know how to spell too! :tease:

Interesting actually that you spell it with an 'i' - I didn't know that - I assume tire as in 'getting sleepy' is the same spelling?

Yes, the spelling is the same. Context matters.

Tamiya makes a rubber black that is a good option aside from all the others previously mentioned.
