Great progress Lyle - she's going to look great when you peel all those canopy masks off
Thanks,
John

Solid progress. Looks like you’re about ready to get the basic assembly finished.

Not too bad considering its age.
Yup. Will soon be primed and painted. Still deciding which version to go with.Stikpusher wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 4:54 pm Solid progress. Looks like you’re about ready to get the basic assembly finished.
Yeah. I can't wait to see the result once all painted.

Undersides painted on! Luckily, I had enough FS36622 Camo Grey to cover it. I practically scraped the bottom of the jar for the last drop of what was left. I still have a tiny bit left but will have to order more. I'll probably get a bottle from AK Interactive Real Colors and another from Gunze.
On a side note... I tested a decal from the kit on a mule kit. Yeah, they are toast. It soaked and slid off the backing paper fine but the white is very faded and brown due to its age. I applied Micro Set and Micro Sol as to hold it down. The next day, it didn't hold or melt to the wing. The edges just peeled off.
Looks like I'm gonna have to find aftermarket decals for this

Tom, that’s too bad that the kit decals are toast. But it looks like there are several replacements available.

Yeah.... I don't want to buy another kit for the decals.

Bummer about the decals - that's always an issue with older kits. Looking good though Tom.

It's been awhile since I've been on the bench. Here she is as of now. All is left are the fiddly bits and new decals, which I have to find elsewhere.
Colors used on topside are Life Color Italian Mimetic Green 1 and Life Color Dark Green for mottling.
White band is Life Color Italian Bianco Avorio.

Very nicely done!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
