Well, there is a minor problem with the decals on this one. I put one of the tail decals on and my pristine white tail picked up a nasty hue under the clear portions, which was most of the tail, Off it came. Those decals are not happening, I don't think they will lay down in a blast furnace.
I couldn't find any aftermarket F-16 Thunderbird decals, but I did find some nice Edwards test fleet decals that will make use of the white finish, they should arrive in a week or so. All is not lost on the Thunderbird front, though, as I found this kit when I was rearranging the kits stored in the basement, behind some other kits. I had misplaced its location in my database because the number on it was duplicated on another kit. Hopefully I will have better luck with this kit.

That sucks about the decals. But at least you had another Viper kit with the T-Bird markings.

sory to hear that, John. I hope the replacements work for you.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Re: Riff Raff F-16 fell on the bench
Thanks, Carlos. Those as you probably noted are 1/72 and my kit is 1/48. I actually have the kit that set of decals belongs to which has 4 1/72 kits in it, and unusually for Monogram the decals are in a sealed sleeve and are in great shape. But I went ahead and bought the Ebay set, because what are the odds of getting 4 kits decaled without a screwup or two? And then if I am really ambitious I could do two more kits and have the solo airplanes as well!

My mistake. I don’t know why I thought that it was 1/72. Could you scan the decals from the second kit and print your own, seeing how they are made for a white base background?

I'll just build the Hasegawa kit as a Thunderbird, Carlos. I think the Revell kit will "Be the Best it Can Be" with the Edwards Markings.

Well, the Edwards AFB Test Viper will surely be a rare bird once completed. Far more so than any Thunderbird F-16.

That's one I haven't seen before, John. Probably got its blue stripes later?
