Okay so I've looked at all the WWII reference books I have - Nothing specific on the Marauders I'm afraid Lyle.
I do have some ref photos on the Hudsons, Bostons, Baltimores and Mitchells used by the RAF though. Leaving the Hudsons out of it (as they were used by Coastal Command and painted in camo), the best I can figure is the aircraft in question was either Green/OD over grey, or in Desert brown/light stone/blue etc. camo - my money from what you've said is Green/OD over Grey - I have photos of RAF B-25s in that scheme (DC-3s. too come to think of it).
Sorry, not much help - but then who's going to prove you otherwise?

Re: B-26G Marauder
I am in a mind to agree with the OD/grey, given the scaps of wreckage. Thanks for checking.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
Re: B-26G Marauder
That would be my guess too, given the photo's of other US types in the same scheme. My gut feeling is they were all painted in that basic OD/Grey scheme and then just repainted by the RAF in whatever was needed when they got to the theatre they were going too.
