The Duke's First Finish for July

Post by Duke Maddog »

This is another Shelf Queen off the Shelf of Doom. I started this Revell 1/72 scale A-400 Grizzly back in 2015. Darn thing fought me tooth and nail the whole time! Finally, I buckled down and kept at it until I could finally call this bird finished.

Here is my first finished model for July; the Revell 1/72 scale A-400 Grizzly in French Air Force markings:

My apologies for the multi-colored background, but this is one freakin' huge beast and most extremely difficult to photograph in my limited space. Nobody will be seeing this in person anyway unless they come over and take a gander at it hanging on the ceiling. It just ain't worth bringing out. Pics make it look better than it is. I'm just thrilled to finally call this thing done!

Good to see that you finally finished this one Mark! This big bird reminds me of a C-17, but powered by turboprops.

Good job on getting that finished up. Looks pretty darn good from here.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Looks good Mark. I was looking at that kit myself but the grizzly sounds like a bear :giggles:
I imagine she's pretty big in 1/72 indeed. Good looking airplane, but I do like the transports/airliners
Thanks,
John

Thank you Carlos! At one time I actually considered getting another of these kits and adding jet engines to it to make a C-17. Then I started working on it and that idea went out the window fast!

Thank you Lyle! Yeah, it does in pics from a couple thousand miles away! :giggles: :lashed:

Yes, Grizzly is a bear and that fits the description of this model to a 'T'! This bird is as big as one, and just as ornery in construction and painting.

This is what happens when a C-130 and a C-17 have a baby.
