Revell 1/48 F-14A Tomcat

Post by SigEp Ziggy »

I have started a dozen modeling projects and finished zero of them. However, the traveling IPMS show for September 2023 is in Boise, Idaho, 450 miles, 6 plus hour drive for me. I plan to attend and enter a model!

I decided to start and finish a 1/48 aircraft model, I prefer 1/72 scale aircraft models, that my son gave me for Christmas.

I started on the cockpit, just dry brush the raised detail and clear green on the screens

And got most of the way thru one seat

Shane, the cockpit looks good, but that seat,,, wow! Did you add anything to the seat, or is it jJust what comes in the kit?

Stikpusher, I'm in a time crunch, so mostly out of the box, but I did and will do some scratch on this build.

Here is the other seat before the added belts, just tape and styrene

Wings are painted and decaled, next is weathering. I am going to use oils for the first time, I hope it works out

I don't believe I will make the deadline, but i will keep going

Weathered and clear coated, next I will try break-up the mono-tone color with oils
