Hi all,
I have a bit of a silly idea, but I wanted to test myself. I want to attempt to build a model car in 24 hours. My model of choice is the 1971 GTX, I'm building from the F8 kit from revell. Box stock with engine wiring. I'm missing a few parts though, the mirrors and headlight lenses. Once I have my paint of choice and a day off, it's game time. I'll record what I can, by video or photo. I'll start the day by posting my workbench ready to start. I do have the engine mostly glued, I did that a while ago then put the kit away. So maybe it's cheating, but that's a whole 20min difference to me.

Are you planning to do this in a single 24 hour session, or in multiple blocks of hours that will total 24 hours?

24 hours non-stop? :hmm:

Between painting and assembling a car kit, I could do it in 24 hours but not non-stop.

However, I could build any kit within the hour or less unpainted. :giggles:

The idea is to do a 24 hour block of time, all at once non stop. I don't sleep anyway XD

Okay everyone, I am beginning tonight. I have everything aside from the headlight lenses, but they take 3 seconds to install when I get them.
So yes, midnight for me (eastern daylight saving) is the beginning. It will start with body work and getting paint on the body asap. I'll post as I go

Update 1
Body panels are attached and roughly sanded to shape. Im not too worried about being perfect on that. The body is buffed with 800-1500 grit paper and has just been rinsed with warm water to remove dust. Ready for paint. Next stop is prepping engine for paint, which means drilling plug holes with my new pin vise.
