The Duke's Latest Armor/Vehicle

Post by Duke Maddog »

Hey all!

This was actually completed sometime in August, but here it is finally being posted.
This is the ancient Airfix 1/76 scale Russian Zil SAM-2 transport truck.I built it all out of the box and will hopefully someday be added to my SAM-2 layout:

Blooming 'eck that's an old kit Mark, and not one I think I've seen built up before - love it though, it looks awesome!

Nice! Something about those missle trucks.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Nice finish Mark. You made the ancient Airfix SA-2 look good. Can’t wait to see that SAM site project of yours.

Thank guys for the awesome replies! I never get notifications via E-mail that a reply has been posted to threads I'm watching so sometimes I forget to come here.

Stuart it is an old kit and on some ways it dies show it's age. Still, I've wanted one of these in my collection since I was a kid, so now that wish has finally been fulfilled. Thank you for the compliments!

Lyle, thank you! I agree, there's just something about them. That's why I'd dreamed of getting one of these for decades.

Thank you Gary!

Thank you Carlos! I'm hoping I can get one done; the layout is gonna take some space. I'm planning on doing it in Modules, but still; I have to have a place to store it!
