ICM Polikarpov I-5 late
Re: ICM Polikarpov I-5 late
Looks good!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
Re: ICM Polikarpov I-5 late
Work continues on the Polikarpov. The wings are very fiddly. I have made an I-5 before (in 2012!) and made a cardboard jig (is that the right word?). Fortunately, I am a bit of a hoarder according to my wife and I saved that jig. And it still works like it should.
The wings are on, the centre struts are glued with Tamiya liquid and the reinforced with Gators grip.
If this it secure then I will do the outboard struts. These are very fiddly two pieces per strut. So I have to be calm and cool when I do those.

Looking good. Yeah.. I hate fiddly bits on biplanes - especially in 1/72 scale.

With the little and fiddle bits, scale is not a factor…hate them.
That really looks good, Borg.

Re: ICM Polikarpov I-5 late
The jig did the trick, after the centre struts where solid (1 day dry, then extra gators grip) I did the outboard struts, gear and tail in one go.
Everything is in place and touched up. But now for the truly difficult part, the rigging. I have done it before, so I know what to do. But there is a reason why I useally only build one biplane every two years…..

LOL... I'll do it once a year, if I'm lucky.
