Tamiya 1/48 British 2 Ton 4x2 Ambulance - Completed-ish

Post by LyleW »

I'll 'splain the "-ish" in a moment. Honestly, this was a lot of fun and easy to build. I could build a few more of them, if there were more options for schemes. I suppose the one in US markings? Anyway, no real gotchas for most people. Now, the "-ish" part. Yes, I snapped off a part - one of the very tiny side mirrors left the building. Went to see Elvis...I guess and the small decal that goes on the left side of the back door was in place, set with Solvaseet and it moved. Touched it with a toothpick and it literally balled up around the end of the toothpick. I have contacted TAmiya to get a mirror and another decal sheet.

Weathering looks a bit heavy in some areas and light in others. Overall, I am very happy with it. Here she is:

Those nice little and troublefree projects keep the juices flowing, doesn't they?
As an ex-corpsman I really dig your tiny ambulance. Also great weathering!

Outstanding work Lyle! :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout: You really made this ambulance kit come alive with the finish and weathering. :hmm:

You nailed this one out of the park. The weathering is spot on. Well done, Lyle! :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:
