I've finished sanding down the seams, I'm onto re-scribing the missing detail now. I still feel that the easiest way of replacing damaged raised detail is to just scribe it in, as the scribing process leaves a little ridge anyway. Once the paints on it you can't really tell unless you look closely.

I've done the upper fuselage, I'm just working on the bottom.

And thankfully my replacement engines have arrived.

Whats involved in adding the engines? Simple swap or is there surgery?

BTW - you need to take a video of you brush painting that beast :giggles:
Thanks,
John

Pretty much a straight swap, although I need to take 2mm off the inner engine mounting points.

Yeah lol! I'm still mulling over how I'm going to paint it :hmm: I have actually toyed with the idea of going back to enamels, then I won't have to arse around with primer.

Wow! That's cool, I might have to get one - it's a shame it doesn't come with the launch trolley.

Making some progress on this - I've fitted the resin engines which, along with filling them full of weights, has fixed the tail heavy problem. I've also assembled all the U/C ready for paint and added all the little antenna bits.

I've also hit it (just for the hell of it) with a coat of light grey on the undersides.

Kind of feel like I'm getting somewhere with this, although I'm not enjoying it as much as I should - I really wish I wasn't building it for a 8-week GB.

Cheers Dudes!
