Agreed Carlos - I do like that too.

If I have another go at a C-130, and by that I mean in 1/144 :-D I'd like to do that scheme, when I have a bit more headspace.

Overcommitting to GBs can be disheartening. Between all the sites we frequent, plus any local clubs we may be fortunate to be a member of, GBs can accumulate quite quickly. And, like you said, if you suggest a theme for one, it turns out that often you will be the one to end up :quotes: “volunteering” :quotes: to run said GB… :headslap:

I’d suggest working on one of those Spitfires as you plug along on the C-130, to keep the modeling fires stoked and not merely simmering… and perhaps painting the other wing in one of your alternate paint scheme colors and see which you prefer… :hmm:

Very true words Carlos - I was indeed volunteered! I've set myself a plan for this week, I think if I can get all the aircraft into one base colour, and get the last few bits glued on and the windows masked - I'll be happy. Like you said though I might well work on a side project - I still have that Hurricane to finish.

Thanks! If I can get it to a good place by the end of the week, I'll post up an update.

That's looking great Stuart. You are making impressive progress and the resin extras should make her look fantastic!

I believe my sister built that kit back in the mid 70s. I'd love to find it again for myself. I love the box art, too.
In progress on one of those now. Fun little kit!

So having decided enough's enough, I've gone back to my original idea of doing the wrap-around Grey/Green scheme. The recovery plan is currently to get all the windows masked, mask up the demarcation lines on the black underside, fit the IFR probe and restore the broken antenna I knocked off last night. Once all that's done I'd like to get an all over coat of DSG just to consolidate it and make it look better than it does now by the end of the week.

I'm also going to have to do something with the small front windows as my clear parts were very poorly moulded and stupidly I decided to fill in
the gaps with PVA glue, BEFORE I needed to paint and mask it... So I'll remove what I've done, get it masked and painted, and then redo the PVA.

I did start adding a coat of DSG over the upper wings, engines and tail just to get rid of the pink last night.

The undersides is a bit of a mess. I'm going to keep the black undersides, and I've masked the black exhaust areas although I need to redo one as I've noticed it's off centre.

Looking forward to getting this nice and tidy, ready for the rest of the paint and decals.

Cheers!

This is probably what it'll end up looking like...

(this is the extended fuselage version but you get the idea).
